LYNN'S HOME LIVING TIP #3: Repair not Replace your GE Spacemaker Microwave

Did you have any idea that a microwave oven could be repaired?  You would think that after the sparks, flame, and smoke that the only alternative would be to replace it.  Not so!  Parts are available online through Sears and Home Depot (www.repairclinic.com) to name a couple.

*It is important to note that if you have a coupler (the piece located under the glass tray and above the turntable motor) that is worn, sparking, flaming or smoking do not automatically assume that your GE SpacemakerMicrowave has to be trashed or that the turntable motor is bad.  Take a close look, it is more than likely just the coupler which is about $23 shipped in the U.S.
